La-la-la Lollipop

My baby had his first hair cut! Grandma Wager came for moral support and as you'll see... he needed it!

But first, here are some before pictures...

Try to see past the busy body and take a look at his locks. Although it is distracting that he was exploring/made a mess in our pantry :)
As his father said, he was growing a tail
Fun with Grandma before we left
"Yeah! This is the best, Grandma!"
The hair was growing past his ears...
After being in denial for far too long, I finally took the boy for a trim at Lollipop Cuts in Granite Bay
Getting strapped into his sweet ride!
Feeling it out...
Proud Grandma and Ethan diggin' the steering wheel
Clap! Clap! Happy boy :)
"Wow, this wheel is great!"
Clapping along to Mommy and Grandma's serenade of "If You're Happy and You Know it"
Still clapping. Still happy...
Wait a minute...
"Get me out of here!"
All done!

He's a new little man!

9 1/2 months old and another milestone... first hair cut!
He's getting so big, so fast!

Next... Baby's First Thanksgiving!

Couple's Retreat

Our small group retreated to my parent's cabin up in Arnold a few weekends  ago. We left the kiddos with their Grandmas and headed to the woods! We had an amazing time taking turns cooking, relaxing, hiking, and playing games. Oh, and we watched an old VHS of Spaceballs... in all my years, I now know why I never saw that movie.

Here are some pictures of the weekend:

The boys found some loud 80's jackets in the closet...
 Dan also found a sweatshirt
Jen making blueberry pancakes and bacon... sad story with the bacon. We made sure she had more than half a strip the next morning :)
Left the drinks out in Mother Nature's refrigerator

On our hike in Big Trees

Jen, Gina, JJ, Mark, and Dan

Green carpet

This picture happened on acccident, but I kind of like it :)

Finding our way back

It was so wonderful to get away and hang out with friends for the weekend without the interruption of our little ones. Every week we meet to dig into scripture or discuss a book that hopefully will deepen our relationship with Jesus, but we have lots of distractions with the kids. This weekend allowed us to focus on our friendship without the same distractions... and bonus! take a walk surrounded by God's beautiful creation!

We missed one couple who couldn't make it this time around, but we're hoping to go back when it snows!
